Remember when resignation was closely associated with honourable surrender and not just another politically correct way to preserve the illusion of honour and, to a certain extent, respect?

Just as resignation, that above question is rhetorical in nature.

Re·sig·na·tion: sudden urge to spend more time with one’s family, despite perpetually having chosen career over all. This seemingly calculated decision often coincides with one facing trouble or having to take responsibility by answering allegations of serious offences committed, which were or are are about to be brought to light to the public.

“One”, meaning “I”, along with perhaps a considerable amount of Japanese nationals, would trust that Seppuku, and certainly not an official statement delivered to the media and/or board of directors, would reflect the absolute essence of resignation.

In contrast to that essence, most would say that the most memorable resignation in modern western civilization took place on August 9, 1974, as Richard Nixon becomes America’s Greatest Disgraced President.

Moving forward to our recent times, the spectrum of various titles and professions eligible for resignation is no longer reserved for men of state, leaders of nations and military men.

Beloved athletes, risen to god-like status, bare the same pseudo-responsibilities as one who is required to influence a nation of soon-to-be responsible members of our well-balanced society. Along came, and almost went, Lance Edward Armstrong (born Lance Edward Gunderson), whom had won the Tour de France a record seven consecutive times between 1999 and 2005.

In 2012, he was disqualified from all his results; thus, stripped from all his titles, since August 1998, for using and distributing performance-enhancing drugs and was banned from professional cycling for life.

Last June, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) charged Lance “serial cheat” Armstrong with having used illicit performance-enhancing drugs, and announced a lifetime ban from competition, which applies in all sports which follow the World Anti Doping Agency code.

Recently, he was set to compete in an US Masters swimming event, but then withdrew, as a result of the International Swimming Federation’s (Fina) pressure.

Re·sig·na·tion…avoiding the complete dissolution of your self-founded corporation/foundation.

From one discipline to another…in November of 2012, David Howell Petraeus, retired American military officer and public official, who also served as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), also resigned. Prior to his assuming the directorship of the CIA, Petraeus was a highly decorated four-star general, serving over 37 years in the United States Army.

Petraeus began an affair with Paula Broadwell, principal author of his biography in late 2011 , when he was no longer an active duty military officer. Petraeus reportedly ended the affair the following year, when he learned that Broadwell had been sending harassing emails to a longstanding family friend of the Petraeuses, Jill Kelley.

Mission accomplished.

In our modern times, highly decorated military men, resign offer affairs, and perhaps no longer over burying their nations, and others, under an avalanche of their inadequacies.

Re·sig·na·tion…keeping as much truth about Benghazi and the military industrial complex, hidden from civilians.

From military to its twin profession…politics!

Gérald Tremblay, businessman turned disgraced Canadian politician, served as mayor of Montreal for a decade until his resignation. This decision, coerced or not, necessary or not, was followed by allegations of corruption and financing the mafia, made at the Charbonneau Commission of Inquiry on the Awarding and Management of Public Contracts in the Construction Industry.

He was accused, at the Commission, by construction industry contractor Lino Zambito. The latter alledged that Tremblay’s party, Union Montreal, received a sum equivalent to 3% of the value of sewerage rehabilitation contracts awarded by the City of Montreal to a mafia-linked cartel.

Following these allegations, amongts others of similar nature, Tremblay announced that he would be taking a few days off. On November 5, 2012, Tremblay announced that he was resigning as mayor, and was leaving politics.

Re·sig·na·tion…bending under perpetual public outrage and furthering Omertà.

Gilles Vaillancourt is a former Canadian politician. He served as the mayor of Laval, Quebec, from June 8, 1989 until November 9, 2012. During this time Vaillancourt was also the leader of the Parti PRO des Lavallois.

As part of the same Commission, the Awarding and Management of Public Contracts in the Construction Industry and the Permanent Anti-Corruption Unit inquired and searched Vaillancourt’s residence for evidence of corruption.

On November 9, 2012, Vaillancourt resigned as mayor and denied all of the corruption allegations against him as his party dissolved.

Re·sig·na·tion…bending under perpetual public outrage and furthering Omertà…same as above…politicians, all the same n’est-ce pas?

From politics, to its close entity…economy! At this point, the military-politics duo is presenting itself as a full blown triplet set. The indefinite triangular axis of power some might say.

Ben Bernanke, an economist and currently chairman of the Federal Reserve, the central bank of the United States, since 2002.

Stop the press!

Before you initiate an email with the purpose of addressing my mistake, which will hopefully initiate my erratum, I am require to advise that I am fully aware that Bernanke is still active in his position, allowing the print of devalued currency at its usual healthy pace.

During his first term as Chairman, the Federal Reserve experienced its largest increase of power since its creation in 1913. Successor to Alan Greenspan, he will most likely step down from his position in January 2014.

He has been attacked for failing to foresee the financial crisis, for bailing out Wall Street, and, most recently, for injecting an additional $600 billion into the banking system to give the slow recovery a boost.

Re·sig·na·tion…stop the prints…a scandal of personal nature is in the works or perhaps even ready to be released at any time.

Who’s next?

– We shall see how this resignation trend will unfold. In these though economic times and omnipresent global conflicts, not only immunity is scarce but also the amount of backs left exposed and unscratched is exponentially increasing.

– Anywhere the chips may fall and everywhere desks can be cleared. Anywhere and everywhere.

“By the time I took my seat in the Gods, the opera was well into its final act”

– Barbara Covett, played by Dame Judi Dench, in Notes on a Scandal (2006)

Re·sig·na·tion …

… Nostalgia tends to often be best left as such.

Thus Always…

On an autumn day in 1963, one of Dylan’s friends was visiting him at his apartment, read the lyrics and asked Dylan: “What is this shit, man?”, to which Dylan responded, “Well, you know, it seems to be what the people like to hear”. This was definitely a song with a purpose. It was influenced of course by the Irish and Scottish ballads … “The Times They Are a-Changin.”

Over the past few months, in accordance with my anticipation, I have been progressively realizing that ‘We the People’ are not interested in embracing the truth and accepting reality. Denial is good in small doses as it can protect us from unbearable pain and shock. As such, our body has defence mechanisms which protects us.

Well my friends, I have come to the crossroads. I do appreciate the fact that some people in my life and strangers have shown signs of appreciation and interest. However, I must face the fact that bearers of truth and the well-intended are rarely compensated in any way shape or form. Not only in a social or political sense, but also in our personal and professional lives. Seems as if no matter how close one gets to another, the more we use what we disguised behind clever terms such as being politically correct, corporate, classy and so on. These terms enable us to look at ourselves in the mirror and find comfort in thinking that we are a good people.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to change people or the way society is structured. Although on more than one occasion in my life, I have spoken the truth to various people, in different stages of their lives and mine, and trust me, it has always backfired. I honestly think that people find comfort in illusion and lies. There are predetermined answers, idioms, sayings and proverbs for everything we go through in life. But we fail to acknowledged that the opposite statements are always available, when needed. Once again, to deter us from reality and also for others to find comfort in us. For instance: “Opposites attract” one minute and “Birds of a feather flock together” the other. Or even “Slow and steady wins the race” which is opposite to “Time waits for no one”.

The sayings that always seem to turn my stomach, which I admit to have also used in the past would be: “It is going to be okay.”; “What goes around comes around.” and of course “Everything happens for a reason.”

We blame politicians all the time but if it weren’t for them sheltering us from the truth, we wouldn’t be able to go on another day.

As Jack Nicholson said it best to Tom Cruise in a Few Good Man: “You can’t handle the truth.”

And my friends, We the People cannot.

I have come to feel as Dylan often did throughout his career. Shortly after JFK’s assassination, Dylan supposedly said: “What it means is that they are trying to tell you ‘Don’t even hope to change things’.” He later wrote: “it is useless to recall the day once more.” In another, he repeatedly wrote: “there is no right or left there is only up and down.”

Maybe Dylan was discouraged and depressed, or maybe he was just spending too much time with Johnny Cash. That’s what you get for spending too much time with the man in black, as he will show you the truth. If you won’t see it, he was the type of man to make you feel it.

Not sure which road I will choose but I am facing the reality that writing about how fat Jessica Simpson or Aishwarya Rai has become after giving birth; commenting on how fake Kim Kardashian relationships always have been; or even who has gotten good and bad plastic surgery in Hollywood, is what We the People want and somewhat need. We complain all the time that there is no quality and/or educational entertainment but the few that are still surviving in the media have the poorest ratings.

In the meantime, there is only up and down.

“Come gather ’round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’
Or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won’t come again
And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who
That it’s namin’
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin’.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside
And it is ragin’
It’ll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one
If you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin’.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin’
And the first one now will later be last
For the times they are a-changin’.”

The times will eventually change but not here and definitely not now. When it will be too late to change, just remember People, you are always given what you wish for, until you don’t wish it anymore.

Oh yeah, Happy Birthday Bob Dylan!

Bob Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman, on May 24, 1941.

Let’s go Camping

May 17, 2012

As the summer heat sneaks into Washington D.C. for its yearly reign, while our nation’s pockets are not as full as one would have planned for; austerity seems to be not only the necessary measure to adopt but also the new trend of the decade (hopefully not decades). The ones that aren’t privilege enough to summer in Cannes must find a cost-effective alternative. From ocean to ocean, the choice is ours. Many national parks are in need of tourists and road trips are always fun.

They say that location is everything, therefore, which camping grown is the most coveted in the United States? Somewhere in the Arizona desert? Perhaps Amish country in Pennsylvania or Ohio? Or even in Oregon or California’s State Parks?

Which camp site would meet the world leaders and celebrities standards? A place that would cater even to the paranoiacs, security would be provided by the US Navy and the US Marines. An”invitation only ” formula would only be natural.

Well folks, such location does exist. Although its exactitude is top-secret, it is in Catoctin Mount Park, Maryland, USA.

Pack your bags, we are going camping. Going camping at Camp David.

Formally known as the Naval Support Facility Thurmont, then Sangri-la (by F. D. Roosevelt), then known under its current name given by Eisenhower, in honor of his father and grandson, Camp. I mean David.

This historical gem is commonly known for Jimmy Carter’s Camp David Accord in 1978, between Anwar Al-Sadat of Egypt and Menachem Begin of Israel. Not only that Accord has provided an ease at Israel’s southern border, but also it granted all of them Nobel Peace Prices. When I say all I do mean just that. Eisenhower and FDR have also won Nobel Peace Prizes. Seems as this Camp David ground might just be blessed as it leaves its host with zen and serenity that has to be shared with others in need.

This year, President Barack Obama has decided to host the G8 Summit at Camp David. This decision is not based on a quest for serenity as he his already a Nobel Peace Laureate. The main reason would be as its original location, Chicago, is already hosting NATO’s summit on May 20th, right after this one. As protesters plan months in advance, why give them a two for one occasion to riot?

Another protester, somewhat indirectly, is Czar Vladimir Putin.

Putin stated that he will not be able to attend as he needs to finalize his duties as Russia’ second-time president, by approving cabinet nominations. A task that is, according to Putin, to sensitive for the former president, now second-time prime minister, Medvedev. Therefore, Medvedev will have to suffice for this year.

Or perhaps the real reason is that Putin’s survivalist camping skills are too advanced for these amateurs. He might just find it more exciting and challenging to camp with his fellow North Korean, Syrian, Chinese and Venezuelan scouts.

Can Cameron do that? No he cannot.

Can Harper do that? No he cannot.

Can Merkel do that? Actually, maybe, surprisingly she can do anything!

Can Hollande do that? No he cannot.

Can Monti do that? No he cannot.

Can Medvedev do that? Of course, he is KGB too. But not as well as I can.

From Russia with Love

Now if this doesn’t want to make you consider enrolling your children in KGB camp instead of scouting, I don’t know what will.

As for the rest of the G8 scouts, they will be present, as usual, at the summit. France will bring personal care products, sunscreen and picnic baskets. Germany will take care of bringing the hammer, axe, lanterns, ropes and knives. Italy will bring beverages, food and water. Japan will bring tents, trash bags, towels and sleeping bags. The U.K. will bring rain boots, rain coats, tea, coffee and fishing gear. And Canada will bring firewood, warm blankets, marshmallows, hot chocolate and first aid kits.

On the new financially relevant side of the world, as BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) and the O5, also known as the Plus 5 ( Brazil, India, China, Mexico and South Africa) are closer and closer to become the economic powers.

As Putin will not attend Obama’s Camping Party, Obama has decided to return the favor and not attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) this fall, in Russia.

And Obama’s reason for not attending? Let’s just say that he has decisions to make in regards of his re-electoral campaign. These decisions are too sensitive for Joe Biden to assist.

In the meantime … From Russia with Love.

Although not as publicized as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Awards, some might say that if it were presented in English and focused only on mainstream box office hits, the Palme d’Or might be more internationally known than the golden Oscar statuette.

On the other side of things, the Old Hollywood glitz and glamour has slowly been replaced by marketing obsessed corporation that wouldn’t know Scorsese from Eastwood if it shot them in the face. How glamorous can one be when photographed in front of a Kodak and Network banner.

Film festivals are a dime a dozen. Seems as if the only innovative way to put your town’s name on the map over the past two decades has been to associate it with a festival. Even if founded on good intentions and true appreciation of the art form. As they say, everyone has their price which is eventually exposed when met by financial incentives. Therefore, when it comes to specifically art forms, respect should only be given when consistent artistic predominance maintains for decades. Cannes International Film Festival, founded in 1946, is still considered the world’s most prestigious film festival. And of course, still invitation only.

One might say that their committee goes hand in hand with old money high society which puts them in a position to be at ease with living for the arts without painfully selling-out. Some might even say that if it weren’t for finance, the Oscars would be holding the most prestigious award title. Well think again, not all of us sells out. True patrons of the Arts would never consider selling out to multinationals for the sake of survival by embracing donations with strings attached. The Cannes organization actually was financially unable to host their event in 1948-1950. As the true art connoisseurs that they are, there wasno festival held these years.

As for the Academy Awards, they could have made that wise decision on more than one occasion, a certain number of years. They have been hosting their ceremonies since 1929. Marcus Loew, a sharp entrepreneur, founder of Metro-Goldyn-Meyer, would have himself pulled the plug certain years. Based on Hollywood Folklore (which is now known as “based on a true story”), he is known to roll in his grave the full moon night before Oscar night.

Bref, back to Cannes’ Festival. This year, the guest of honour is Marilyn Monroe. Which is surprising for two reasons. First: she as a woman known for her beauty and sensuality, an icon and a money-making symbol of anything you want her to be. She is mostly associated with superficiality and marketability. Secondly, ironically enough, this years nominated directors are all males. Twenty two of them.

Let’s not come to the widespread common conclusion and shout sexism. If only 7% of directors are women and approximately 3 to 5 thousands movies are released each year, from that number alone less than 5% are good enough to make it to Cannes or any reputable film festival. You do not need to have attended and pass an advance calculus class to understand that one should not accuse the committee of bigotry without logical research and evaluation.

I am of course for us all living in a utopic Martin Luther Kingesque world, but certain accusations should be used when legitimate, valid and/or relevant. Also, understand that not even my children’s children will see the light of that day in which bigotry and discrimination is absent. Until then…

Dream a little dream …

Above that, the nerves of the ones basing their outrage on the fact that Madonna and Angelina Jolie film’s were not selected. I far from dislike them and appreciate the transitions that they took with age. However, nominations should not be given out to people based on anything but talent, for the sake of meeting statistics and preventing possible public outrage.

What most people, fail to understand is that good enough or great does not equal epic or classic. By nowadays standards, good enough dancers become great pop stars, which is of course is synonymous with outstanding singers and musicians. From there, the ones that started as a good enough dancers became respectable actors and then of course, legendary film directors.

In conclusion, I am proud to say that the Cannes committee did not concede to public irrational outburst and anticipated controversy.

On another note, a moment that I embrace this year is the acknowledgement of Xavier Dolan’s third movie: Laurence Anyways. This will be his third visit to Cannes, each for each of his movies. Despite the pre anticipated critics pertaining to favouritism, Cannes’ committee, once again, made decisions based on what they believed in and not based on public opinion or corporate directive. J’ai tue ma mere, his first movie of his unofficial trilogy, although critically acclaimed, is far from being on my favourite movie list of any kind. However, I did understand and appreciate the overload of visual feasts mixed with an eclectic yet esoteric choice of musical arrangement. Les Amours Imaginaires, which I saw a couple of dozen times, strangely validated feelings that we all hopefully felt towards another person at one point in our life, and it made me discover songs such as Exactement and Pass this on, which I surprisingly feel in love with. Now, as for Laurence Anyways, I am impatiently awaiting its grand opening on July 18th. This film is approaching the subject of, of course, love. More specifically impossible love between a man and a woman, after he decided to undergo a sex change operation. Whether you are a true, unrestricted true freedom seeker or not …

Dream a little dream …

Funny how the subject of love lead to another subject that is dear to our hearts, or should be dear to our hearts: freedom. When you really think about it, isn’t it contradictory when a country kills millions of people for the sake of freedom and democracy, but yet cannot seem to contemplate the idea of same-sex couples uniting, in a civil ceremony. Remember separation of state and church?

I hear you the ones out there, warming up your fingers, impatiently getting ready to send me a comment, educating me about the fact that same-sex marriage, although illegal at the federal level, is legal in certain states: Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont and Washington D.C.

Once again, still not recognized federally. Therefore, if this issue is dear to your heart, important for your freedom, then keep on fighting.

Dream a little dream …

In the meantime, for those living in countries in which same-sex unions are illegal and the suspicion of one being homosexual is not only an automatic trial-free death sentence but also a scarlet letter on your family. One way to bypass that agonizing death sentence might be to choose to undergo a complex transgender operation. One might think that a country that is against same-sex union and relationships should not even consider the option to facilitate such surgeries. Think again. Guess which country, after Thailand, ranks number two when it comes to sex reassignment surgery?

a South American Country (Land of …. name any)?

the United States of America (Land of the Free, Home of the Brave)?

Canada ( Land of free Health Care)?

The Netherlands (Land of open-mindness)?

It is good old Islamic State Iran. Supremely lead by Ali Khamenei through Mahmoud “the are no gays in my country” Ahmadinejad.

While you are trying to get off the floor, you might want to stay down as you finish reading the following. This Persian Republic also provide financial assistance for the surgery. Up to 50% of the cost, as the rest would be up to Allah to provide. In order to keep with synchronicities, I am taking this opportunity to recommend a festival-worthy film, Be Like Others which subject is transsexuals in Iran.

Dream a little dream ….

On our side of the ocean (or oceans, depending which direction one decides to follow), President Obama, which has been indirectly avoiding the same-sex union issue back from his pre oval office days, has recently openly declared his support for same-sex unions. The ones which were against the Obama administration have yet another reason not to vote for him. The ones that were initially for the Obama doctrine, then progressively realized that promises were not kept as admiration was being replaced by skepticism, understand that this is a politically driven and not socially driven statement. Lastly, for those out there that have not yet realized it, Obama might just be like the others: same difference as I like to say. Or shall we now say: Be Like Others.

Dream a little dream …

Dreamt a little dream …

A few mornings ago, as I was listening to my daily BBC News radio show, I have noticed that the World Shakespeare Festival was heavily advertised. I started thinking if 2012 were his quadricentennial anniversary of death, or perhaps birth. Although not to far off, I was mistaken. On April 26, 448 years ago, William Shakespeare lived; on April 23, 396 years ago, William Shakespeare died.

Well, at first glance, the month of April is a liaison, not only associated with spring romance, but also, at least for this year, with Shakespeare. Thus, Shakespeare’s Spring, which I decided to emphasize by the following love quotes:

If music be the food of love, play on.” – Twelfth Night (Act 1, Scene 1)

The course of true love never did run smooth” – A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Act 1, Scene 2)

Love is a smoke and is made with the fume of sighs” – Romeo & Juliet (Act 1, Scene 1)

I love you more than words can wield the matter, Dearer than eyesight, space and liberty” – King Lear (Act 1, Scene 1)

Love is begun by time, and time qualifies the spark and fire of it” – Hamlet (Act 4, Scene 7)

Oh how romantic are thou William, my dear. And romantic he was. In his testament, he did make a point, however, of leaving his wife his “second best bed”, which has led to much speculation.

In reminiscent of Charles Dickens, regardless on the education received, classical or not, Shakespeare has always been drilled into our minds and introduced as on of the greatest English bard/ poet and play writer, celebrated then and now.

But unlike Dickens, this Bard of Avon’s work has sold more than a million tickets to attend productions and festivities held in his honor, which spread from April 21 until September 2012.

Only Shakespeare, the Institution, is grand and coveted enough to compete against the 2012 Olympics, in London, which will take place from July 7th until August 12th. But why compete when you can unite? And along came a union. No, I am not implying that Dickens and Shakespeare will be this year’s mascots. We will leave the parading and merchandising to Wenlock and Mandeville. Okay well just the parading now that I think of it.

The Olympic ceremonies, created by Danny Boyle, are inspired from Caliban’s speech in The Tempest: “Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises.”

Who could have brought up these magnificent, perfectly marriage events this summer? You would never guess.

The Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development?

The Department of Tourism?

An eccentric billionaire philanthropist?

Well, it is none other than BP. Yes as in oil spill British Petroleum and oil sand BP: this year’s official founding presenting partner.

Okay Okay, I will step down (for now) and go no further in my synchronicity and sarcasm as I will allow culture to shine, without being overshadowed by the clouds of corporate opportunism.

On this subject, see you in September, when everything is said and done! I will surely pick it up then where I am leaving it now. But something tells me that I will probably have new wars, coups and uprisings to write about.

Enjoy the Olympics!

Okay Okay I’ll stop. Enjoy the Olympics. I mean it this time.

Brought to you by BP … World Domination through British World Pollution and British World Exploitation.

I can’t help it.

“I’m Chiquita banana and I’ve come to say
Bananas have to ripen in a certain way
When they are fleck’d with brown and have a golden hue
Bananas taste the best and are best for you
You can put them in a salad
You can put them in a pie-aye
Any way you want to eat them – It’s impossible to beat them
But, bananas like the climate of the very, very tropical equator
So you should never put bananas in the refrigerator.”

– Words and Music by Montgomery, Mackenzie, and Wirges.

We should never put bananas in … the hands of Congress and White House Officials either.

Chiquita Brands International Inc, an American producer and distributor of mainly bananas, was founded in 1871. In 1998, the Cincinnati Enquirer published Chiquita Secrets Revealed, which accused the company of exploitation of workers on plantations, pollution, drug trafficking, bribing, land grabbing and other misdeeds.

Chiquita denied all the allegations, and sued after it was revealed that one of the reporters had repeatedly hacked into Chiquita’s voice-mail system. Therefore, an apology was published and the company was paid a mulch-million-dollar settlement. Let’s not jump to conclusion and automatically assume that the big bad multinational wolf must have done it all and successfully cashed out of court, as most of them do.

Right after, a Fair Trade movement counterattacked, by forming an alliance of social activists targeting the banana industry, specifically Chiquita. Down with corporations! Encourage small farmers!

As a result of this pressure, Chiquita partnered with the Rainforest Alliance, an environmental group dedicated to preserving the rainforest, and made major reforms in the way they plant and protect their bananas, especially in the use of pesticides.

It is results like these that keep us hoping and trying to make things right. Although 1998 doesn’t seem that far ago, times have changed more than we think. Corporations, not governments, are holding our fates in their hands for the sake of wealth and power.

Monsanto, created 30 years after Chiquita, perhaps abides by the same code of conduct as Chiquita. Even their Websites are incredibly similar not only in design but also in content and style. After exploring their sites, one is left lead to think that they are both advocate of social reform and the welfare of human kind. They are proud of making a difference.

Making a difference they do! In 2007, Chiquita was fined $25 million for having ties to Right-Wing and Left-Wing Colombian paramilitary groups which are all the U.S. State Department’s list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations. World domination is easiest when merging both sides on your payroll.

They paid approximately $2 million to the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC) which is right-winged, in exchange for protection in Colombia. In addition, brides were also made to the left-winged Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), as well as the National Liberation Army (ELN).

Furthermore, that same year, 173 family members of victims of militia filed a lawsuit against Chiquita. If lost, it may put Chiquita out of business. Terry Collingsworth, a lawyer with International Rights Advocates who is involved with the multimillion dollar litigation, said: “This is a landmark case, maybe the biggest terrorism case in history. In terms of casualties, it’s the size of three World Trade Center attacks.”

Justice will prevail right? Not sure…

On a side note, I often reply “Not sure” to my statements for the idealists out there that still believe in Utopia and are quick to associate people with my points of view as overzealous, pessimistic and even extreme. For some reason, saying “not sure” appeases them. It is sweeter to their ears than “No”. “No, children, justice will not prevail!” is too strong of a statement for some fragile minds protected by bubbles.

As you know, I approach all my articles in a very sarcastic but realistic manner. Therefore, I will tell you the following:

Michael Taylor, responsible for introducing Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) into food supply without appropriate testing, was just appointed by the Obama administration, senior advisor to the commissioner of the FDA. Before that he was one of Monsanto’s attorney, Vice President and chief lobbyist. When questioned, the White House refused to reveal relationships with Monsanto.

Also, in the 2007 case that I was referring to earlier, the defense lawyer for Chiquita Brands international was Eric Holder. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, he has been promoted by the Obama Administration to U.S. Attorney General.

Again, Justice will prevail right? ….

Bananas or not, in the meantime, let the bees do their work and pollinate as they were created to do. If it weren’t bananas, it would have been something else. Something else indeed … such as bees themselves!

Yes, Chiquita is to bananas as Monsanto is to … almost everything. However, for now, let’s just focus on bees. Monsanto’s bio engineered compounds have been killing off bees as they are highly toxic. In an effort to replace them, why not make them better as Monsanto knows how to do best. Hybrid bees have been created and they are bigger, better and work harder. Better for all you might think? Think again, they were designed only to pollinate Monsanto crops.

They are so effective that Monsanto has no time to let their toxins destroy nature. They would benefit by taking the destruction into their own hands. Which they have. Why just settle for the title of creator? Might as well seize the title of destroyer one as well. Once their job is done, what will pollinate your crops, gardens and even flowers?

Only Monsanto-engineered creatures will have the ability to proceed.

Did you know that bees communicate with each other with pheromones? When in danger, they release this compound, which smells exactly like bananas, in order to warn others.

In fact, introducing a ripe banana in their environment will create chaos and terror, such as yelling “terrorist” in an NRA meeting.

Or yelling __________ in a Monsanto-Chiquita White House meeting.
